High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) 2.85mm Filament by Innofil3D

HiPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is known as a support material for ABS in the 3D-printing community. It dissolves in D-limonene. Because it has the same operating temperature as ABS it is an ideal material to use as a support material.

Print Settings
  • Nozzle temperature 260 ± 10 °C
  • Bed temperature 100 ± 10 °C
  • Bed modification (Blue painters) Tape
  • Active cooling fan No / Yes (up to 50%)
  • Layer height 0.1 – 0.2 mm
  • Shell thickness 0.8 – 1.0 mm
  • Print speed 40 – 80 mm/s

*Settings are based on a 0.4 mm nozzle

Properties
High Impact Polystyrene or HIPS is widely known for it's following properties:
  • Use as the dissolvable support for ABS prints, dissolves in D’limonene
  • Clean Matte Finish (hides layer lines better, not as glossy or reflective)
  • Low warping material, great for large prints
  • Easy to post-process, sand, smooth, paint or glue
