Note: The washing liquid required for the Elma Wash Station is Tripropylene Glycol Methyl Ether (TPM). not IPA. TPM is an alternative washing solution approved by Formlabs for all formlabs resins.

The included Bin and lid are resistant to TPM & Resin.
Elma P300H / P180H Ultrasonic Cleaning Unit

Formlabs in collaboration with Elma, a leader in manufacturing ultrasonic cleaners, has customized an automated wash station for the Formlabs 3L printer. The P300H and P180H are ultrasonic cleaners using high powered sound waves to produce cavitation in the liquid medium rather than agitation (formwash) which thoroughly cleans and dissolves the excess resin off freshly printed parts.

Operation
  1. Fill the main Ultrasonic chamber with 3-4L of water with a little bit of soap
  2. Fill the Plastic Bin with TPM
  3. Place the bin in the main chamber
  4. Place the part in the bin
  5. Run for 15 minutes (may vary depending on geometry)
  6. Heat off
  7. Mode Sweep
  8. 80 kHz
  9. Power 100%
  10. Let Part drip dry
  11. Rinse your part in soapy water (leave for 30 mins)
  12. Let your part dry (until water is evaporated)
  13. Post Cure if required.

*TPM and water can be left in the machine (do not need to clean out each time on use)

 *Tub may not fit a full build volume 3L print. In such cases, you can rinse half, flip around and rinse the other half.

Other notes
  • WHY TPM?
    Because of the larger build volume of the 3L, a larger tank is required to clean the parts. A large amount of IPA can evaporate quickly and become a fire hazard. TPM is non flammable, has low evaporation and high absorption rate for resins making it a more ideal choice for the 3L post processing.
  • P100H or P300H?
    This depends on the size of prints you commonly make, we recommend making the distinction based on the maximum size of parts you intend to make. Compare the internal tub sizes to see if it fits. Both units functional the same besides the size.
  • What is the warranty like?
    2 year warranty is provided by the manufacturer (Elma)
