3D Printing Technologies

We use three different 3D printing technologies to produce professional grade parts.

Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF/FDM)

Fused filament fabrication is the most prevalent type of consumer and prosumer 3D printing.

Stereolithography (SLA/MSLA)

StereoLithography, the king of detail and surface finish uses a laser to cure liquid photopolymer resins.

  • High detail, high resolution
  • Excellent surface finish
  • Specialty materials (biomedical, high temp)
  • Closest to injection molding
  • Fully solid isotropic parts

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

Selective Laser Sintering is one of the most efficient forms of 3D printing which makes it suitable for batch production.

  • Batch Production
  • Consistent surface finish (sand blasted look)
  • Great dimensional accuracy
  • Close to isotropic parts (~80% on Z)
  • Strong nylon material

Frequently Asked Questions

01 — Have an idea/Project

You’re here! Which probably means you want something made. Either 3D printing, 2D laser cut, or designed from scratch.

02 — Tell us what you need

By submitting your file for an instant quote. Don’t worry, if you don’t have all the information we’ll help you fill in the rest when we check out your file. The most important is that you have a file you’d like to print, and a good idea of your most important criteria. Be it surface finish, Part strength or turnaround time.

03 — Review and Quote

Once you’ve submitted your information, we’ll have our experts review your file and flag any potential issues. We’ll suggest a printing process and material if you’re not sure (or we suspect would be a better match).

04 — Accept and print

Once you’ve decided on the details of your print and are OK with the cost and time estimate, you can checkout online. And we'll commence printing! (or scanning, or lasing)

05 — Delivery

Once finished and passed quality check, you’ll be notified of print completion! The part will then be shipped out to you. Courier options available for Vancouver/Toronto for extra fast delivery. Local pickup in Vancouver/Mississauga also available.

Use our autoquoter to see if we can print your file. If you're still unsure, contact us.

The one that balances all your requirements best. Strength, cost, surface finish, temperature, chemical resist, there isn’t one material that will work for everything, but there’s likely a material that will work for your specific application.

Ultimaker, formlabs form and fuse series, raise3d pro, bcn w series, and many others. We choose printers based on best output or size requirements.

Yes, but depends on the scope of the project. We will take your project from idea to print/prototype. For mass production, you’d need to take it to a manufacturer.

— Depends which province you’re in, approximately:
  • 1 day to Ontario and BC
  • 2 days to Calgary and Quebec
  • 3 days to Manitoba, NB
  • 4 days in all other places
  • Express 1 day shipping available across Canada.

Accurate pricing requires a completed file as it is based on a variety of factors, but see the chart below for a cost comparison between our technologies based on a standard cube.
