Introducing Max: the SEW Eurodrive's Maxolution Bot
If you happened to have attended CMTS or have been keeping up with our newsletters, you might have met Max the new robot for SEW Eurodrive's Maxolution. At just over 4 feet tall, Max is definitely a 3D printed structure that will grab your attention. His 'stand your ground' posture commands respect while his entire form being constructed for SEW Eurodrive parts is beyond creative.
Max was 3D printed using our Ultimakers but you may have noticed that the robot itself is obviously too big to be done in one shot on them. I mean, the Extended printers are pretty big but not that big.
So the question becomes, as someone who wants to print a large scale printed object, what are the considerations to keep in mind? We will be starting a series of posts that will walk you through the process from design to finishing on how we took Max from a cool rendering on a screen to the life-size bot that it is today.
