The truly portable and versatile handheld 3D scanner for high-precision results. Usable in a variety of scanning modes, the EinScan Pro2X is capable of adapting to your particular needs weather you're scanning for high accuracy reverse engineering or fitting. Or Run and gun style on location scans. The Pro 2X scanner makes it easy to obtain high resolution detailed scans.
The Pro2X(plus) is a white light scanner. Projecting a light pattern from the center aperture during the scan, the dual cameras on the top and bottom triangulates the projected pattern onto the object to generate a light assisted 3D point cloud of the object in 30 frames per second. All the while, the software tracks the position of the scanner in 3D space to follow your movement as you pass over the desired scanning area adding data to scan as you move. Refining previous areas as you pass over them again.
This continuous track and scan technology translates into an intuitive workflow where you simply need to "paint" over what you intend to scan and the software will continuously add and refine the data as you pass over the areas.
Rapid scanning mode
So long as you have enough visual features on your model, you can scan the object in rapid scan mode without worrying about trackers, preparation or cameras.
HD scanning mode
For more accurate results in handheld mode, you can additionally place tracking markers (included with the scanner) on your object for higher tracking precision with the same workflow as rapid scan.
Run the Einscan in Fixed mode for maximum accuracy. Having locked the scanners position in space, triangulation of the scan targets features can be totally optimized taking a super high resolution point cloud snap shot within seconds.
The subject can then be rotated and a new snapshot taken. The new features will automatically be aligned to the previous scan until the whole object is fully digitized.
How does this compare to photogrammetry?
If you're use to the photogrammetry workflow (taking multiple still images, and using software to compare features and "stitch" all of the images together to create a 3D object) You'll find the Fixed mode to be a godsend in both speed, predictability and workflow.
Photogrammetry while able to produce decent results with just software and any camera available, many variables can affect the accuracy of your object including camera lens distortion, settings, lighting and shadows. With the EinScan Pro2, everything is self contained within the unit. It projects it's own light and able to use HDR mode vastly simplifying the setup and repeatability of the scans. The primary limitation of Photogrammetry is the gargantuan task of organizing pictures and letting the computer "process" the information. You never know if the triangulation process will result in good data until you've spent the hours (sometimes even days) to process the pictures. You could have spent hours taking the pictures, days processing to find out that the scan was inadaqute, putting you back to square one. The unpredictability and the high processing time is what the EinScan Pro2X handedly solves.
Workflow wise, Fixed scan mode is similar but superior to photogrammetry in every way. You can have the same setup, a scanner on a tripod (see industrial pack) and a turn table. The turntable automatically turns the object and the scanner takes a 3D snapshot until you have a full 360. All automated with a touch of a button.
Once you are happy with the point cloud data, you can delete the points you don't need with an intuitive lasso tool right inside the scan program. Then process the point cloud into a watertight mesh. Everything is automated with custom controls producing usable high resolution meshes with ease and predictability.
