Formlabs Clear Cast Resin Cartridge (1 Litre OEM)

3D Print Accurate, Low Ash Patterns for Investment Casting Directly in House

Clear Cast Resin is a resin designed for investment casting, to directly print patterns that can be invested and cast. It has an extremely low thermal expansion, low ash, and no trace heavy metals. Clear Cast Resin, paired with a latticing software, is recommended for use with larger parts, excelling at producing geometries thicker than 3 mm.

Special Notes

Wash

  • When washed in TPM, standard resins remain waxy when printed with a layer thickness of 50 microns or 100 microns. Post-curing removes waxiness. Without post-curing, waxiness goes away after about a week.

Form Cure V1

  • For parts printed in an engineering-focused resin, post-curing ensures that the parts reach their optimal mechanical properties and can function as designed. While the recommended post-cure time is 15 minutes, post-curing for 30 minutes will result in a small additional gain in tensile modulus.

Form Cure V2

  • For parts printed in an engineering-focused resin, post-curing ensures that the parts reach their optimal mechanical properties and can function as designed.

Product Highlights

Top Features

Accessible pattern production in-house

Clear Cast Resin on Formlabs SLA printers enables direct production of casting patterns in-house which reduces costs, decreases turnaround times, and improves flexibility in iterating and production.

Clean Burnout

Clear Cast Resin achieves a clean burnout with low ash and no trace metals, leaving nothing to contaminate the final cast part.

Low Thermal Expansion

Best in class thermal expansion for reliable casting shells with minimal cracking.

Accurate and Versatile

Create accurate patterns within 0.25 mm of the design. Compatible with any metal or shelling system, allowing foundries to cast new designs in record time

Built from Experience

Formlabs has produced industry leading investment casting resins for large, 3rd party SLA printers at its state of the art manufacturing facility in Ohio, and leveraged this experience in developing Clear Cast Resin for its own SLA printers.
