SHINING3D developed the Transcan C as a professional-grade 3D scanner capturing exceptionally high resolution and accurate scans of objects from small to medium size for a great variety of industries. In addition, the 12 MP cameras help to produce a rich and detailed colour texture for your 3D model, giving an intuitionistic image of the physical object. The Transcan C also features an adjustable scanning range, in order to meet the various object scanning needs of end users. You can smoothly shift between 3 levels of resolution in one project in order to maximize the details and efficiency of your project.

Please Note: The Transcan C requires a Computer with a NVIDIA Graphics Card for use.

FAQ

How can I scan dark, reflective objects?

The best way to get an accurate scan for an item which is dark and/or reflective is to spray your object with a matte spray like Aesub. This allows the scanner to accurately pick up all the details of your object.

How does this compare to Photogrammetry?

Photogrammetry (while able to produce decent results with just software and any camera available) still has a few flaws. There are many variables which can affect the accuracy of your scan including camera lens distortion, settings, lighting and shadows. With the Transcan C, everything is self contained within the unit. How does Meshing work?

Once you are happy with the point cloud data, you can delete the points you don't need with an intuitive lasso tool right inside the scan program. You are then able to process the point cloud into a water tight mesh. Everything is automated with custom controls, allowing for the production of usable high resolution meshes with ease and predictability.
