Tariffs and Your Orders: What You Need to Know

How do the US tariffs and Canadian counter-tariffs affect you and your purchases from Shop3D?

Shop3D is proudly 100% Canadian, with headquarters and staff entirely based in Canada. Over 97% of our clientele are Canadian customers, and our primary mission is to support Canadian institutions with the professional technologies we offer. We fully support the Canadian government in protecting our economy and our sovereignty.

We import great brands from around the world, including some from the US. The US partners we work with have consistently been reliable and respectful towards us and our customers, which is an important distinction from their government.

Important points to note:

1. Although most products were not affected by the now paused counter tariffs by the Canadian government, they may be impacted by the next round of counter tariffs when they resume.

2. Volatile currency fluctuations will also influence all imported products, regardless of their origin.

3. As most imports are settled in USD, significant changes in the CAD/USD exchange rate due to tariffs will affect product pricing to the upside.

4. Rates are likely to increase over time, regardless of mitigation strategies, so we advise making purchases sooner rather than later.

Our response

Shop3D will strive to mitigate foreign exchange fluctuations through FX hedging and will offer alternative products not sourced from the US for customers who prefer to avoid them. By purchasing from a Canadian reseller like us, even for US-originating products, you are still directly supporting our entirely Canadian workforce.
