How much does 3D scanning cost?

Scanning projects start at $140-$200 CAD. Quoted price will depend on project size and complexity.

Can you work under an NDA?

Yes. We offer a generic mutual NDA. If you have your own you can send it to us. There may be a minimum order requirement for NDA projects.

Can you scan an object on-site?

Usually no, but in some cases we make exceptions. Please inquire about your specific needs by calling us and discussing the project's requirements.

Can you scan multiple parts?

Yes, we can also offer multi-part discounts. Especially if the parts are the same size or complexity.

How long does 3D scanning take?

Usual turnaround time is 1 business day.

What file formats can you provide?

  • .OBJ+PNG texture
  • .STEP (only if reverse engineered as a service)
Can you create a CAD model from my scan?

Yes, but this will include an extra reverse engineering fee. The price will depend on part complexity and is quoted on a per-project basis.

Can you scan shiny, black, or transparent objects?

Yes, but we will need to spray it with scanning spray.

This product disappears on it's own after a short time so you don't need to worry about cleanup.

If it's a very expensive item, let us know before hand so we can ensure that we test the spray in an inconspicuous area before spraying the whole item incase there's an unexpected chemical interaction.

Do I need to send you the physical part?

Yes. You can drop off your item at one of our showrooms, or ship it to us for scanning. Shipping charges may apply.

How accurate is 3D scanning?

This depends on the size and material of the object but generally around 0.04mm to 0.1mm. 

What objects can you 3D scan?

We can scan almost anything, sized from a golf ball to a car door. Deep holes and the insides of objects, such as the interior of a jar, are not able to be scanned. Send us a picture if you’re not sure and we’ll confirm.
