New implemented features for an improved customer experience!

July 06, 2019

In the past 3 months, we've really been focusing on some additional functionality to our website to allow a more seamless and improved experience for users that want to self serve through our website.  Here is a highlight of some of the new features we've implemented to serve you better.

New Filaments Master Guide:

A long time in the making...we've finally launched our Master filaments guide.  It's always been confusing with so many acronyms of materials and choices and brands out there that it's hard to differentiate the different options available and more importantly which fits the application you require.

Our new filament master guide not only lists all the different types of filaments we have but also a complete overview of the most important characteristics.  Accompanying each type of material, we include:

  • The Acronym plus chemical or popularly referred to the name of the material
  • A sample printed with that material and a closeup so you can see the finish
  • A graphical chart showing it's physical characteristics for comparison
  • A summary of Pros and Cons for your application
  • Brands available and carried by Shop3D that sell the particular material type and quick links to that brand
  • A direct Shop Now Button to lead you straight to the buying options for that material

We're proud to launch this guide to help reduce confusion and point you to right to where you need to be.

Request a Quote Feature from Cart:

A much-requested feature with customers who have educational or corporate accounts with us who do not purchase through our eCommerce website but would like to use the site as an online shopping catalog.  This feature allows you to fill your online shopping cart as desired and instead of selecting checkout, you can now select the option to "Generate a Quote" from the shopping cart page right underneath the checkout button.

Simply enter your email address and a quote will be automatically generated for you in pdf form and sent to your email address for your accounting department to process.  * Please note that special educational rates and taxes may not be included with the auto-generated quote.  An educational account manager will be in touch to revise or customize educational quotes for you.

Quick reference shipping times from Toronto/Vancouver:

Right within your check out cart are two buttons near the bottom that allow you quick reference in matrix form the shipping time estimates for each type of shipping service to the major areas in Canada.  So you can be well informed right from the cart page which service may suit you the best.
