Formlabs Durable Resin Cartridge (1 Liter OEM) - Form 4 is an engineering-grade SLA resin designed for producing tough, impact-resistant parts with low friction and excellent wear resistance. With mechanical properties similar to polyethylene (PE) and a low coefficient of friction comparable to Delrin® (POM), it is ideal for functional prototypes, snap fits, jigs, fixtures, and moving assemblies. The 1-liter OEM cartridge delivers consistent, reliable printing performance for compatible Formlabs Form 4 printers, making it well suited for demanding engineering and manufacturing applications.

Resin Details

Durable Resin V2 is a pliable, impact-resistant, and lubricious material for squeezable parts and low-friction assemblies. Parts printed in Durable Resin are robust and have low friction, with similar strength and stiffness to polyethylene (PE), and a coefficient of friction comparable to Delrin® (POM). Choose Durable Resin V2 for squeezable prototypes, low-friction assemblies, and jigs and fixtures undergoing significant impacts. Durable Resin V2 is compatible with Form 3 Series printers. Choose Tough 1000 Resin on Form 4 Series printers for an improved formulation with 5x higher fracture toughness, and improved temperature and creep resistance.

Resin Cheat Sheet

Product Durable Resin V2 / V2.1
Cure Temperature 60 °C
Cure Time (Form Cure V1)
Cure Time (Form Cure V2) 12 min
Wash Time 20 minutes
Special Notes

Wash

  • Tackiness has been observed on part surfaces when washed in IPA with more than 10% resin concentration. Use fresh solvent if your parts remain tacky after washing.
  • Do not leave Durable Resin in solvent for longer than 20 minutes total, as excessive solvent exposure affects the quality of the final part.

Cure

  • For parts printed in an engineering-focused resin (such as those in the Rigid, Tough & Durable, and Flexible & Elastic families), post-curing ensures that the parts reach their optimal mechanical properties and can function as designed. There is only one recommended post-curing time for Durable Resin V2.

Notes

Formlabs Engineering resins come in a resealable and refillable 1 Litre Cartridge.

Resins should be handled in accordance with Formlabs protocols.

A new resin tank should be used per Resin colour/type for your Form 2.
Never mix the use of resin colours or types with a resin tank.

Formlabs Durable Resin Cartridge

  • With low modulus, high elongation, and high impact strength, Durable Resin produces parts with a smooth, glossy finish and high resistance to deformation. Use this material for applications requiring minimal friction.
  • Durable has the highest impact strength of our Engineering Resins. Its low modulus and high elongation make it highly resistant to deformation.

Overview

Whether you’re optimizing your manufacturing process, rapidly iterating through designs, or assessing form, fit, and function, our Engineering Resins for the Form 2 are formulated to withstand extensive testing and perform under stress.

With low modulus, high elongation, and high impact strength, Durable Resin produces parts with a smooth, glossy finish and high resistance to deformation. Use this material for applications requiring minimal friction.

Supports print resolutions: 100 and 50 microns.
Post-curing required.

All Engineering resins requires UV post-cure when finishing for it to be fully cured, please consider the Form Cure to properly cure your functional resin prints.
